There use to be an Ethiopian restaurant in San Francisco on the corner where I lived called Axum Cafe, closed in 2023. It had the best food, cheap prices, could not get enough of the spongy flatbread. Fun getting the huge combo platter and sharing with friends…oh and with lots of honey wine. Miss that place!

I used to love going to the Ethiopian food stall in Greenwich Market when we lived in London. I love injera, I recently bought some teff flour to try it myself, but it looks complex.

This is not plant-based food. THis is flavor-based spiciness. Hottest thing I’ve ever eaten and I’ve eaten a lot of things.
Worth it.

I love injera.
Eritrean restaurants serve injera with just slightly different vegetarian dishes, a slightly different style.
Enjoy both!
