Had to throw out the last grill. Giving a kettle a go. So far pretty happy with it. Anybody else not get the thermometer in the box? Shows it in the instructions and had a hole in the lid for it. I had my old one so I just threw it in the hole.

Contact Weber’s customer service, they will send a replacement for the missing thermometer
Looks like a good one, enjoy!
Quality control for Weber has been going down hill for quite sometime. Doesn’t mean it’s of poor parts, it’s that the parts don’t line up sometimes or stuff is missing.
On my Weber Kamado one of the legs bolts stripped because I couldn’t get it to line up with the pre-drilled holes. I was pretty upset but Weber sent a new leg out right away.
Congrats on the Kettle as she’s a real beauty.
Welcome to the family. I’d contact Weber’s customer service, they’ll take care of you.
The oe wouldn’t fit anymore anyhow. I used a hole saw for the one I had laying around. It was descent.
In my experience, the thermometer is only accurate if you’re cooking in a very specific coal configuration that you’ll utilize on maybe 1 out of every 10 cooks. Aside from those rare instances, the thermometer will tell you if the grill is really hot, kinda hot, or barely hot.
You’re going to learn fast to cook by both observation and feel which is the beauty of grilling with a Weber Kettle
