Haha I do almost the same style but over a portable firepit.

  2. FishBait22

Might start using a flamethrower like OP

  3. WabaleighsPS4

With a blowtorch. One of them big green camping ones from Walmart works amazing.

  4. josebolt

Cheapest briquettes with a about a half gallon of lighter fluid. Gives the chicken and pork hotdogs the perfect zest.

I’ve always used a weed burner—from pour on the coals to cooking in about 15-20 min. tops—-

  6. MadDocHolliday

A chimney and 1 paper towel dampened with vegetable oil.

  7. FriendlyITGuy

You uh, using store bought charcoal or making your own? LOL

  8. YerBeingTrolled

Chimney with ripped up charcoal bag paper lit with a propane soldering torch

  9. therealtrousers

Charcoal and the paper from the charcoal bag.

  10. I_Want_A_Ribeye

    Chimney with a tumbleweed underneath.

If it’s windy, additional tumbleweed halfway up the chimney.

I like whatever the fuck you’re doing though. Looks fun

Are those tongs I see in there?

DID YOU NOT CLICK THEM TWICE BEFORE YOU STARTED?!?!

With my weber performer, or the old way tiny bit of lighter fluid on a few brickets.

  13. UpsetJuggernaut2693

Some of the paper from the bag of charcoal normally

  14. Level_Affect_8464

I use a chimney and light it on the grill.

  15. Jello_Penguin_2956

I’ve been wanting to light mine with moon light and magnifying glass

OP has this right. Start by breaking down the hard wood into chunk. Cool it and relight for the cook. Way to show the entire process.

  17. ishouldquitsmoking

A little less drunk than this.

  18. fanzel71

Maybe I’m the outlier, but I’ve always used a stick of lighter pine/fatwood. I just light it and stack the coals around and on top of it. 30 minutes later, the coals are ready. I buy a 2 lb. bag of lighter pine every couple of years.

  19. GTBoosted

Pour some in the chimney, then press the button on my performer.

Not with the fires of Mt. Doom, that I can tell you.

  21. DIJames6

I thought the regular way, but I’m gonna try napalm like you, op..

Sometimes reading is just too challenging of a thing. My, does this picture look like one hot mess!

OP, you are not invited anywhere near my grill.

  23. bbq_fanatic

Did you mean light a bonfire instead of coals?

  24. esleydobemos

When I lived in Florida, I used a chimney and dry cabbage palm or palmetto leaves. It even worked in the rain.

  25. AnGabhaDubh

Bro,  if i *look* at something hard enough it sets on fire

  26. delhibellyvictim

do you shoot the coals til they light?

  27. supamayun

Retired my chimney for a propane torch. 2 min and done.

  28. WhatTheBlack

Bro those are logs. But I use a paper towel soaked in oil

  29. Fun_Indication3367

Clear balloon with water and the sun

  30. Farmer_Mink

    1. Put charcoal in a pile.
    2. Pour vegetable oil on a paper towel.
    3. Set paper towel under a few charcoal pieces & light.
