CouCou has opened a second location, the first is in Venice, in West Hollywood.

The French-inspired bistro has a pretty intimate outdoor space and a cozy inside space with a long bar and a few tables and booths.

Appetizers include a vegetable plate with hummus and olive tapenade; tuna tartare; whipped farmer’s cheese with smoked salmon and dill on a crostini; Hamachi ceviche; fried olives; zucchini beignets with chevre and a Bibb lettuce salad. There are also great seafood specialties including a prawn cocktail and lovely oysters, as well as a Petrossian caviar service with potato chips.

There’s plenty of French classics including a French onion soup, steak tartare, steak frites, mussels in a saffron tomato broth and escargots. They also serve a huge Wagyu burger which looked delicious and a special “L’Haute Dog” with pork sausage, cheese fondue and French onion marmalade which we ordered and was delicious, as well as grilled Dorade, chicken paillard, pasta rigatoni and a great braised short rib. Side dishes don’t disappoint including a lovely artichoke heart side, grilled asparagus, truffle Brussels Sprouts, harissa roasted cauliflower, haricot verts and pommes frites.

Desserts include their famous soft serve sundae with a chocolate hard shell, cherries and almonds and a chocolate mousse.

CouCou is perfect for an intimate romantic dinner on the patio, drinks and appetizers before a show or just to enjoy some delicious French dishes. Located at 9045 Santa Monica Boulevard, reservations at Resy.
