I bought this bottle last week at an estate sale. From what I can tell it looks legit. I wanted to see if any of the members here had any insight on the authenticity.

Not sure why you’d forge a bottle from a pretty poor year in BDX. Of course, even if it is legit, you don’t know how it’s been handled for the past 50 years.

I am by no means an expert as I have only ever held 2 bottles of this wine, but it looks legit from the pictures. Opened a 1982 vintage about 6 years ago and again the same vintage this past December. Cork crumbled both times but still extremely enjoyable, though very short lived. No accounting for how yours was stored, but you can use it as a display piece or roll the dice!

You did not miss the “drinking window”

probably fake, I’ll take it off your hands for free

  5. Will take a look at our bottles and let you know tomorrow.

From a quick viewing though – it looks legitimate.

Not many fakes go through the effort of putting an importer label on it. Much easier to check provenance.

  6. Levels seems fine

    Label and foil legit

Just get the durand or a lamined opener

    Dont garraf/decant

    enjoy.

  7. Looks right. Can you see anything on the cork? Doubt anyone is faking a 72

I drank a 71 a few weeks back. Wasn’t bad, but definitely “austere,” as they used to say…
