A hot, new restaurant in Cornwall is getting its fair share of praise with diners saying it’s “so good” they have already returned repeatedly. One even called it “special”.
Ardor in St Ives is a semi-new Mediterranean restaurant that opened its doors last summer. Chef Dorian Janmaat’s first solo venture, it prides itself on offering warm service, the finest local produce and a ‘taste of the med’. One reviewer said it’s competitive on prices too.
And the recent reviews speak for themselves with several diners remarking on how they’ve already visited on numerous occasions. “We enjoyed Ardor so much we went there on two of our three evenings in St Ives,” wrote one reviewer, who said it was “so good”. “Brilliant food, imaginative without being pretentious. Charming and obliging staff. Reasonable prices. What more could you want?”

The family-owned restaurant’s central location on Fore Street makes it easily accessible for those visiting this charming seaside town. It’s been described as “relaxed and friendly” with lots of praise for the staff too.
Another review said: “We called again for my wife’s birthday we were delighted yet again. Whilst much more busy than our December visits the team were excellent and looked after us so well.

“The food is so lovely I think you could choose anything off the menu and it would be top-notch. Tonight we had the hake special (incredible) and the ribs. The service is brilliant and Victoria again stands out and fully deserves recognition for doing a great job. Thank you team you made our night special – see you soon.”

“This place is incredible,” adds another. “We ordered around nine dishes between four of us and every dish was perfect. Staff were attentive and brilliant. Feels really special but competes with most restaurants in Cornwall on price. Cannot recommend enough.”
