I know we dry hump costco enough here, regardless, here are my notes: Take a perfectly reasonable glass of Rioja (gold fishnets?), add a shot of water, swirl, note the lack of nose and finish but otherwise put your feet up and exclaim "seven fucking dollars!"

I don’t know why people buy this Kirkland stuff. No one is putting their best juce in these bottles. Cheap for cheap sake is just mediocre wine.

If you support small producers bought at local wine shops you’ll get far better wine experiences.

  2. You have to put something in beef stew. 7 fucking dollars will do.

Their Bordeaux was such a giant let down I’m pretty much done with their reds.

Their champagne is great for cocktails

I bought a case it’s ridiculously good for the price

I feel like Kirkland wines always border on the edge of “how cheap is too cheap”. Sometimes on the right side of the edge, sometimes on the wrong side.

Feels like a fucking wine to mix with some fucking cola

You know, I love Rioja, it’s just a very different wine from big Cabs, and I enjoy it regularly, but $7? You get what you pay for? If it was $15 or $18 it would probably be just fantastic. Why not make a better wine?

Is it thin? Yes. Long finish, negative. Complex aroma, nope. Good for washing down tacos or a cheeseburger? Absolutely

Sometimes you want a wine that you don’t have to think about. This is it. The Miller lite of Rioja 🍻

  10. Please tell me that’s a 375ml cause if it ain’t then a slap across the grill from that mitt would send somebody into the multi-verse.

This Rioja was by far the biggest disappointment for me in the entire line up of Kirkland white label wines.

this price point, you just can’t beat that. even 2 dollar chuck doesn’t come close to it in terms of quality vs quantity. tariffs or not, hope kirkland will keep their lower-level quality wines at this price-point

  13. Bought a case. Love it. Not all of us can afford $100+ bottles of vino.

How is this compared to the Kirkland Rioja with the black label?

It’s interesting seeing Americans sort of apologize and justify spending $7 on a wine. Nobody would bat an eye about a cheap wine in most countries around the world, especially those with major wine production. Wine doesn’t need to cost a lot of be of high value. A lot of you are saying the same things but…why do we feel sort of guilty as Americans for spending a low amount on a bottle of wine? Why aren’t we mad that so little of our domestic wine is marketed to us in that fashion?

Have not seen this one at CAD Costco yet…

At this point it’s just grapejuice with 5 spoons of rubbing alcohol. It’ll do.
