A peak into my spice drawer, perhaps the most sacred nook of my kitchen. If you know me you know that I LOVE spices – I wrote a whole book on them titled “Spices and Herbs.” There are obviously so many different spices and I think the only reason so many of us don’t use certain spices is because we don’t know how!
We are going to go through my spice drawer and I will share everything I know about each spice, including it’s history, how best to use it in your cooking, and even one of my favorite dishes in which the chosen spice is prominent.
The first spice is a blend, and it is one of my favorites for how versatile it is. Za’atar can be used on almost anything, but is especially useful when you’re looking to add some savory flavor without too much hot spice.
