I tried some of the tips you guys gave me after posting my first steak. My husband loved it. Thank you guys!

    Looks good.

I’d like it a tad bit rarer than this personally, but the lighting just might fool my bad eyesight haha.

As long as it was juicy and ya husband loved it, that’s all that matters.

    Love the dark sear though.

For a first steak, that’s an absolute win. Nice sear, good cook in the center. Some people waste tons of good meat trying to get to this, seriously, good job.

  3. looks great !! most people here would probably enjoy a more rare steak, but you and your husband are the ones this was cooked for, and if you like medium well like this and this is the doneness you were aiming for then all power to you. on the chance that you would want to have it done closer to medium rare then all of us could offer you tips, but if you were aiming for medium well then this is basically perfect. more than anything i’m glad you and your husband were happy with this and i hope you enjoyed cooking it !!

It’s overcooked, but really good considering you’re new to this. The good part about this hobby is that tomorrow is always another chance to cook a steak perfectly.

That’s awesome! And how did the steak go?

  6. I’m confused about the thermometer reading 117, this is more like 140s

How did you make it? Reverse sear? Your instant read thermometer looks off.
