I’m mister lazy pants, I bought a metal bucket to dump ashes in, so then when the bucket is full I have to walk all the way to the compost pile and dump it there.

I have the original with no ash catcher. Once I empty the ash into the bowl/plate, I toss it in the rose bushes.

Mine broke off years ago. Placed a large stainless mixing bowl on wire shelf under the bowl. Holds a lot more. Looks like crap but sure works well as I can see just how full it is and removing it is much easier

I have a spider venom which is a fan operated temp controller and am paranoid of the ashes getting blown into my kettle so I always empty before my cooks
