Too depressing. Needs more color, like some tomato or paprika or beets or red cabbage or something.

Did you use all those vegetables? That must have made a ton of soup. How many portions?

    Please post your recipe!

We recently added a rule (#6) requiring either a recipe or list of ingredients, since it is so often requested. If you wouldn’t mind adding that we’d appreciate it!

Recipe per rule #6 is :

    – 1kg onions
    – 1,5kg carrots
    – 1,5kg turnips
    – 1,5kg parsley roots
    – 1kg small potatoes
    – 300g smoked lard
    – 4 smoked sausages
    – 500g celery
    – 2 leeks

    Dice everything roughly

Have the dice of lard sweat into some olive oil for 5mn with a cover

Throw the onions in and cook with cover for 15 medium heat with a cup of water

Cook another 10mn without cover medium heat

Add 10 peppercorns, thyme and bay leaves (as much as you ancestors tells you to)

Add all the veggies and the sausages and 3 litres of boiling hot chicken broth

    Cover and take to boil

Cook at medium heat for an hour or so

    Serve hot with toasted bread

I am getting flashbacks to my childhood when my grandma cooked these soups

  6. The potatoes and sausage make it look soooo filling
