Got out early today and still got a warning on Instagram before responding to a message from a coworker really reminding me just how late I work and how much of the rest of the world is asleep by the time I even get to the bar lmao

I don’t need unsolicited life advice from my phone. Those settings are turned off.

It does have a good point though. Most people will be asleep by that time. Sometimes their phone might vibrate or play a sound when you send that message. Which might wake people up. And since they can see who sent the message, that can cause resentment towards you.

Why not just schedule that message to be sent at 8~10 am instead? Give people a break from work. Let them sleep. Or relax and not think about work if they’re not asleep yet. Imo this whole “being able to contact you 24/7” thing is a detriment to people’s lives anyway.

  3. My chef is an Apple Watch Voice-to-texter, but has Do Not Disturb hours so it doesn’t vibrate or anything during certain hours. I’ll text whenever.

It’s still jarring when I know he closed last night and I get a spoken word transcript response at like 5 a.m.

The iPhone needs a “I’m in the restaurant industry” button. It just drops it.
