You may be familiar with terms like spicy, earthy, floral or fruity when tasting wine, but they all also can apply to olive oil. One producer is taking it upon themselves to help educate the Australian public on the complexities of tasting the popular kitchen staple, by by offering on farm tasting lessons. 

In the past, the Aussie slang ‘Ducks on the pond’ would signal that a woman had entered the shearing shed and the blokes should mind their language. These days there’s a growing number of women working as wool handlers, contractors and shearers.

David Saunders first signed up to be a volunteer for St John when he was just 17, juggling his career in mining with his volunteer work. He says having lifesaving skills in rural areas is crucial.
