La Chandeleur, or Candlemass in English, is a French holiday that falls 40 days after Christmas (i.e., February 2nd) and celebrates the day that Jesus Christ was presented at the temple. What do the festivities look like, you ask? Well, nativity scenes typically come down and then there are crepes. Everyone eats lots and lots of crepes. (Psst…if you’re interested in partaking you can find an excellent, authentic recipe here.)
