Try doing a warranty claim on the stand/nest. Assuming it’s not a third party stand. I recently had an issue with the firebox ring in my Joe Jr. being just a little smaller than it was supposed to be (charcoal basket wouldn’t fit down in it), and they sent me a replacement.

Wow, that’s a ton of weight pushing against the sides of the stand. Is this an aftermarket stand?

Not sure about your question, but be careful with that floor jack. I’d put something between it and the KJ to distribute the weight evenly. I get nervous just looking at that photo.

Check where the two pieces of the frame (upper & lower) come together at the four sleeve points (where the bolts are). When they (hardware store) delivered mine two out of the four sleeve/frame points weren’t properly seated in the holder. Loosen the bolts that secure the top frame to the bottom frame and make sure they all are seated into their sleeve. Then secure the bolts that hold the frame together.

When you look at the ring that is hugging/holding the ceramic, is it making contact all the way around or is there a gap anywhere?

Can you buy the ceramic feet for the kj and use them as spacers?

Is that a BJ in a Classic stand?

Stick a couple 2×4’s under the body. I believe ceramics expand with heat so it might be bad for it to hug the stands side like that

You could build a table for it. Plenty of plans available on line

is it possible to take it out and the bend the uprights of the trolley so its a bit wider and then it should go all the way down, In my mind its being restricted from the top where it is wider

I recently had the same issue when I replaced my base with a newer base. The diameter is not the same as the original BJ1 base. I contacted them and they sent me a new stand that allowed the base to sit on the stand as intended. I would be careful grilling with that as when the grill gets hot and expands it could crack all around where the base and the stand meet.

I have a BJ3 stand in boxes I’m about to throw away..
