I don’t believe I’ve ever even looked at the expiration date on a pack of instant noodles.

yeah, it doesn’t mean shit.
it’s very obvious when expired. as long as it looks and smells good, if the noodles don’t smell rancid, go for it.
ParanoidNarcissist2
Yup
RamenJunkie
I would not even notice.

I’ve eaten expired dried stuff before, it doesn’t really cause any harm, the only thing is that the flavor might not be as good if it’s a few years old but with dried pasta and noodles it’s very hard to notice anyways. One year past the expiration date isn’t going to make a difference, but if it’s one of those ramens with a little sachet of fat, you will have to dispose of that as it goes rancid and use something fresher in its replacement like sesame oil.

This stuff will still be safe to eat in 100 years

In the 90s, TX prisons only sold expired. By MANY years. It was fine.

There’s a guy on YouTube called Steve1989Mre .
That guy opens military rations as far as 1940s and still eats what’s edible lol 😆
Bobdirtski
I’d eat it but wouldn’t use the “oil” packet
vickimarie0390
It’s instant ramen, I’m not worrying about my health if I’m eating it.

Absolutely. I don’t think shelf stable goods like ramen ever expire

Yeah I would

Probably, unless I’ve had prior negative experience with that brand. And provided it doesn’t have any holes at all (i.e. squeezing the package lightly doesn’t make the air come out).

Personally no, when I was a senior in 2016 my underclassman filled my drumcase with ramen and a few beef packets expired in 2007 and could be the nine years but I’ve never tasted something so foul in my life. Cant eat beef ramen anymore and I always check expiration dates.
Flying_Kitty_7353
Yes as long it is good
ZeppelinMcGillicuddy
I’d eat it.

People need to stop spreading misinformation here. Oil can definitely go bad. If it smells, throw it away. Everything else that is dry should be fine.

For several months now I’ve been eating Buldak past the suggested date and I’ve never felt bad.
Actually, I have one that expired in June too, haha. Guess I know which one I’ll eat next.

expiration dates aren’t about food safety but more about quality. some foods probably never become unsafe to eat. they just undergo changes in texture and taste.
Inkdaddy55
I mean is basically all salt and preservatives in there. Let er’ rip taterchip!
languiddruid
As long as it’s still sealed, absolutely
Hazee302
Smell the noodles. I’ve had some buldak that were only a few months over expiration and the noodles definitely tasted off. I didn’t get sick or anything but the quality had noticeably declined.
Pandaepidemic
It is my time to shine that expired on the 6th day of the 15th month in the year 2024.
For real though just smell it if it smells fine should be okay.
NectarineCapital3244
Expired Buldak?? Any other brand yes but FUCK NOT BULDAK
hbsboak
Sniff test. The oil in the ramen noodles can go rancid.
