  1. He’d like my family’s version of scotcharoos- regular rice crispy treat, but with the the butterscotch chocolate topping 🙂

  2. Being born and raised in the Midwest, not that far from Michigan I can honestly say I’ve never heard of some of these things. They sound exclusively Michigan.

  3. That looks like the same meatloaf recipe I use and it's fricking amazing. It's the number one request my family makes for my cooking.

  4. Comfort food up North in Ohio is also "Midwest" but are entirely different from the South Midwest… Look up Hankie Pankies (pork sausage, ground beef, cheese and garlic, served on "Party Rye", and Anti-Pasta Salads, which are staples when you have guests in the house.
Our "relish trays" are veggie trays. We serve our chili with spaghetti, but we also make meatloaf (though I use tomato sauce instead of ketchup, and Italian panko instead of bread crumbs).
11:55 Meatloaf was in the "Rocky Horror Picture Show". You should go to see that while you're in the USA.
16:22 Calories per square inch? Pecan cookie bars or fudge have that beat!

  5. Midwest born and raised. I've never heard it called a relish tray. It's just a veggie tray here.

  6. Midwest cooking is INSANE. It looks terrible, smells strange and tastes very good. Also, if anyone says “that’s not a thing” you havnt been to enough house parties in the Midwest

  7. As a midwesterner I can contest each thing presented is tried and true. Everyone just has their own spin! Like the Ramen salad they use coleslaw mix I use broccoli slime mix. I don’t use sunflower seeds. I use slivered almonds, but it’s still amazing. My mom used to make that pistachio cake thing when I was younger probably now why I don’t like it. Lol! Oh how I love a casserole.

  8. If I would have known you were coming to Michigan. I would have drove to meet you guys!! I love your show!!! Oh and the Vernors is really Michigan!!!

  9. As an American from the east every time i see Midwestern food i just think they made it from random leftover ingredients when they had no food left

  10. South Dakotan here… I can tell you when I lived with my family they cycled through every single one of these dishes weekly sprinkled in with tacos and the occasional pizza😂 Great Job!

  11. I am so happy that this wonderful family hosted Josh and Ollie. They were both generous and warm and the hugs at the end were well-deserved. Bravo yet again, Jolly!

  12. sour cream potatos, corn on the cob obviously, chill was spot on, green bean casserole, pumpkin pie, puppy chow, and home made rice crispies spot on

  13. I absolutely loved watching you guys try all that great food but that Nord VPN ad really had be cackling at 1am.
