    That’s not very considerate yo

  2. Suspicious_Meats_454

Sardines are a dish best served at home.

  3. I’d be ashamed to eat this at work tbh but to each their own this is foul

  4. MounMoose

Might as well microwave some tuna casserole while you’re at it.

  5. Perky214

It’s easier to tolerate your lunches IF YOU SHARE 🤤

  6. MadMex2U

Talking to you up close after lunch, oof. Brush away. Extra paste

  7. SayElloToDaBadGuy

Is this where you say you work from home? lol

  8. sallysparrow666

I probably would not eat this in a workspace, and I love sardines.

  9. Infinite_Leg2998

I eat sardines over rice at work at least once week! Just be mindful of others. I never use the communal microwave (I usually just eat everything cold or straight out of the can) and I typically sit far away from people in a more open area that offers lots of ventilation (like a place with outdoor seating or on a different floor of the building that has no one around.)

I also always do a good swish with water and mints after lunch since I have a very face-forward job.

Whys everyone hating on this guy

I would never eat canned sardines at work, on public transport or in a movie theater. Everywhere else is fair game.

Putting this in the break room microwave then setting it for 30 minutes and just leaving

Honestly baffled by all the negative responses. I eat stuff like this at lunch regularly and nobody bats an eyelid. So some of you think sardines smell badly yet you love em? I am just surprised, it has never occurred to me. Also, I don’t think the smell is very strong, but maybe that’s just me? I feel the smell of fried food is oppressive yet people eat it in the communal space all the time. I accept it since it seems to be the norm. But I personally wouldn’t, out of respect. Sardines tough, never thought about it, never had negative feedback. I never heat them in the microwave tough, straight from the tin it is for me.

So OP, to me it looks great and I would love to share lunch with you!

If I eat sardines at work I wolf them down standing by the trashcan then I put the empty tin in a tiny ziplock bag so it doesn’t stink up the shop.

The seaweed reminds me of my favorite tuna dish.. I like to use a flour tortilla, then a layer of seaweed, then a little tuna and mayo (either homemade or primal kitchen) some lemon, soy sauce and finally a little wasabi. It taste like a sushi burrito.

  15. BluebirdFast3963

What kind of cracker / thin bread? Is that?

  16. Dry_Midnight545

The hate, OP, is coming from the title which sets the stage as you are just inconsiderate. “People at work finally learning to tolerate”, when in another section you state you cleared this lunch with coworkers prior. Almost seems as if your intent was controversy

I microwaved leftover salmon week 1 of my first office job. I pretty quickly learned the etiquette after that oopsie 😅

  18. Medium_Tree_7883

Horsey sauce and diablo sauce on sardines bro your farts gotta be lethal

  19. Forsaken-Can7701

I feel like people are more tolerant of fishy lunches in public these days. Immigrant children have PTSD from being told their lunch smells. Maybe it’s time to normalize fish at work.

  20. I remember a coworker from the morning team was eating them at 10 Am. It didnt bother me as I was used eating them since kid 😂 but the face of my others co workers eating their “croissant” were priceless.

  21. SadsMikkelson

“Bringing McDonald’s onto a plane” behavior.

  22. Copperlaces20

Oh I know they talk so much shit about your breath secretly.

  23. Checklestyouwreck

Bro kim wrapped around my sardines with white rice has been my go to quick spot work out meal! Awesome seeing someone else actually eating sea weed wraps!

  24. More_Breadfruit6308

Smelly for them, but healthy for you.

  25. Wasabicecold

At least you got that HorseySauce! 🐎

  26. chri8nk

I have shared your reactions with my coworkers and they are confused. They are now requesting I arrange a sardine tasting for lunch next week. We have a small but mighty team.

  27. Red_bearrr

I would not do this at work. As much as I like them myself, I wouldn’t impose that on anyone. I’ve had them in my car on breaks though.

  28. Kingofcheeses

If you’re not microwaving it, who cares? People being weirdly critical about eating canned sardines in the fuckin canned sardine subreddit. Is this a cultural thing perhaps?

  29. aidsjohnson

I don’t get the stigma about eating these at work. I always go far away from people and clean my breath after, what’s the big deal. It’s not like I’m putting em in the microwave in the break room😂

  30. jam_manty

Looks like the breakfast at the hotel I stayed at in Norway. Fish, bread, hard boiled eggs and a small selection of meats and cheeses. It was quite good but not what I expect coming from North America.

  31. ElectricalQuality365

This is fine 😆 I ate lunch with polish shop builders for years and saw pickled monkeys hands, tripe, the full beans. Long as it isn’t shit I’m sure everyone will be forgiving 😂

  32. Rogue_money

I’ve eaten tuna and left over salmon in my break room and offended some people. Some were pretty interested in my salmon thinking I was some ignorant bachelor who ate frozen dinners. On the same note, I’ve had a tuna packet, apple and cheese and was complemented on my healthy eating habits. I’m certain if I ate sardines I’d be asked not to again.

  33. cowmookazee

I hope you emphasize words with “wh” in it. Like cool whip.

  34. prinsjd07

The furthest I’ll ever go at work is a tuna salad sandwich. And I work as one part of a team of two overnight in a gas station.

I would be annoyed by you for a few different reasons. You brought a whole jar of sardines, than a a big pyrex container to adorn them on a cracker with some fast food hot sauce. Then random other cracker with awkward squeezes of mayo and a bag of nori. I’d prob eat it, but def wouldn’t expect people to be around it. Nor would I bring an entire jar of sardines. IDK the pic doesn’t make sense to me but if your coworkers have been forced into tolerating it, you’ve accomplished your mission.
I just ate my lunches outside when I wasn’t working remotely if it was something stinky. Post photos of the sardine tasting your coworkers requested!
