I don’t know if I should be amazed at the trick or the fact that you have green blue tape

  2. voltagestoner

Hm. Me thinks I should stop ripping them off then.

Back in the day we used to get yelled at if we wasted that much tape on the right hand side. 😂 I don’t miss that kitchen

Is there a history that I’m unaware of failure to tear masking tape?
Nothing would surprise me, at this point.

  5. that’s fine, but all due respect the clip of a sharpie is not sharp enough to pull up the edge of a roll of tape, so limited usage.

Fuck me! I keep a pocket knife just for that.

Ya too bad my health department just decided last visit blue tape was wasn’t good enough anymore and I’m now required to use the labels that dissolve.

  8. And now I owe my life and love to a pair of hands on Reddit. 🫡

I spend about $200 per year on water soluble labels. For the other managers in here, it is 100% worth it.

    **Cons:**

    $200+

    **Pros:**

The perfect size for any food label, cut and ready to use.

No more bitching at staff members to peal labels before putting stuff in the dish tank.

No more asking the dishie to peel labels, and apologizing that the staff isn’t doing it.

    No more sticky cambros.

No more food safety issues stacking cambros with wet labels on them.

No more dish machine filter clogged with wet tape.

No more paying someone to scrub adhesive residue off lids.

Like, there are zero issues with those soluble labels, and they make life so much easier. I cannot recommend them enough. I started using them because one of my employees saw me stressing the fuck out about a few cooks not peeling labels, and a dishwasher not doing it either, out of spite. I was putting a bunch of manger energy into that shit. So, they bought me a 1000ct of labels for Christmas. I put them into service, and never looked back.

    Its so fucking worth it.

  10. I like my scissors. Lay a line down at start of shift and the scissors stay there. Nice crisp edge every time

I will tear the tape rugged and uneven until my last breath.

I’m gonna look really cool or really stupid tomorrow. I. Can. Not. Wait.
