Growing up in the American South I always put salt on my watermelon, but in the last few years I’ve come to really like Tajin seasoning on fruit especially pineapple. As an adult I like to put finishing salt on my watermelon but occasionally like Tajin if I’m in the mood. Where do the folks here stand? Any other watermelon/summer fruit seasoning I’m missing out on?

I’ve not done either. I salt my grapefruit since I was a kid though

Ooo try cucumber with one or the other and a touch of lime juice

Salt! All the way. Makes my mouth water thinking about it. I’m ready for some Watermelon and salt shaker.

Both! I’m also late to the Tajín / pickles combination, so good!

  5. FOR IT!! Mango also
Rim a margarita glass with it.

I don’t know that I’ve had a fruit yet that doesn’t work with Tajin, though haven’t attempted blueberries or grapes. Don’t think anyone needs to go to extremes.

You need to be jailed for this lol! JK. I personally hate salt on melon, so no and no.

Both…love them both for different reasons…

Tajin, personally. I do the same w/ Filipino mangoes! I prefer sour over salty!

    Tajin.

Or you can try Tay Ninh shrimp salt. It sounds weird but it’s addictive.

Eating watermelon as a snack is not something I experienced until I was an adult (PNW-born) and went to like a baby shower or something.

It sucked. Watermelon is basically flavorless 🤷🏻‍♀️

I prefer salt. It’s to the point and more likely to be available everywhere. Like my grandmas may have a water melon in the fridge, she will have salt in the cupboard but the likelihood of her having tajin is slim to none.
