He gets the middle sections & I get the ends since he likes nearly raw. Seasoned with paprika. After ten minutes of resting covered with foil, had become too cool for his taste. Other than heating in the microwave, not sure how to improve heat retention.

Tell your boyfriend to let that rest for at least 15min before slicing.

You can improve heat retention by adding heat in the first place

A for effort on his part though, that’s awesome he was thoughtful to make something for you after a hard day of work

We got Butcher Box before. It’s absolutely JUNK garbage meat. Highly recommend avoiding it at costs. It’s by far the lowest quality meat I’ve ever encountered.

  4. Boyfriend did a great job with the cook, but needs to be more patient and let the steak rest!!! Look at all that juice on the cutting board! That’s flavor wasted 🙁

Not rested long enough and I can’t tell if he cut it with a chainsaw or cut with the grain?

Maybe he should have had it make an acquaintance with salt and pepper first.

not slicing it all at once would help heat retention

Seasoned with paprika? Anything else? Looks fire cook wise it’s a 10/10

Tri tip is a top 3 cut for me after ribeye and a general roast, I love my slow cooked meats. THis tri tip is beautiful.

If the plate is thicker stoneware material maybe warm the plate beforehand? Or get a food heat lamp.

Did he put anything else on other than paprika or did it come pre marinated?

Longer rest would be prudent, but great looking cook!

Oddly. This! Looks kinda good to me. I always go medium rare but I’d actually love to try this out. Sucks bf couldn’t enjoy to his taste however.
