Just bought an Anova 2.0 after my cheap Monoprice died. Before that I had a Kickstarter Anova… is this sound normal?? It’s already driving me nuts.

Just replaced my two og Anovas… it’s definitely higher pitched. Instead of gently humming in the background you get this shit.
hiddenkittenha
No normal. Mine is silent
mrg1957
Mine doesn’t sound like that
Momto2manyboys
I don’t know if silent is normal? Mine isn’t silent you can hear the machine and the water but not as high pitched as this. It’s really no louder then my other appliances that run all day
steveC95
Yes I have the same one and it sounds just like that
woodrowwilson5000
Mine makes a similar sound but it seems quieter than yours.
mellamoreddit
Not normal
Informal-Bluejay5701
Probably won’t help, but raise the water level an inch and see if it still does that.

Had my old Anova that I’ve had for years (like 6 or 7, maybe more?) crap out on me. I was actually in the process of doing research of what to replace it with when my Dad bought me a new Anova.
While it’s quieter from a decibel perspective, the higher pitched frequency of the noise it makes while running is very grating 🫤 I suppose there really is no reason it has to run in the kitchen, might have to move it to the laundry room or garage. It’s that irritating.
TmanWPB
Sounds like my Nano.
Informal_Drawing
That’s broken.
Had one doing the same thing and they replaced it.
I’m on my third.
They are absolutely garbage quality.
Techienickie
Mine sounds just like that.
I just started a 30 hour Sir Charles. I plan to disassociate until Monday night.
Significant_Rain8755
Nope mine is silent. Pull the cover off and run it. Sounds like something rubbing on the sleeve
Puppy_Breath
We got one that sounded like this, returned it and replacement was quiet.

Anova are TERRIBLE. That sound is not normal. Return it for full refund and get a proper circulator
954kevin
Mine sounds the same.
JustPassingGo
That is not normal. See if the circulator blade cover on the bottom unscrews. You a bent circulator blade axle.
Connect_Dealer_2183
I just finished a ribeye in the sous vide. Best steak I ever had is the one I make at home since I got one.
smergicus
Yes. My first Anova was completely silent and when it died i quickly replaced it. The new one made that exact noise. I returned it within a day. I can’t understand why they haven’t fixed that

Mine makes a much quieter version of that same sound.
Arlieth
Open it up. Look for a bent heating coil that’s vibrating against the metal housing.
mtommygunz
Mine did this after I had used it for many years and then it would randomly stop for awhile and then it got really bad to the point I threw it away
BearishOyster
Mine is silent
Top-Order-2878
I have a different version. Sometimes it screams like a banshee. Pulling the bottom plastic cover off and adjusting the spinning blade to be more level stops it. I have to dink with it once in a while.
Overload4554
My Anova is working fine – but now that they have introduced a subscription fee for new users, that would keep me from buying one
Commercial_Daikon_92
Mine sounds about the same. Maybe not as loud (hard to tell the volume from the video).
