  1. I can’t speak for the CitiZ but I freaking love my Pixie.

Nice pick. If my mini ever gives out, that’s the model I have my eye on. Let us know how it works for you!

You didn’t buy a Vertuo Next or Pop+ so you’re good lol

Great choice. Nice finish on it. Had mines for nearly 10 years, it’s all black and looks sleek compared to all the other models

  5. I owned a Citiz Platinum with frother. Aesthetic-wise they are beautiful! Personally, I like this model the most!

They seem to have very few problems reported here. They are in the Original line, so are espresso machines. So, you are somewhat limited to capsules intended for espresso size drinks and drinks made from espresso size products, like Americanos. (That’s an espresso with hot water added, originally to satisfy American tourists who wanted the “cup of coffee.”) They turned out quite good, due to the deeper notes and complexity of espresso. If you have non-espresso friends, you got the right Citiz, because the Platinum has controls to make cup sizes up to 5+ounces. You control the volume.

You also have a huge range of choices of capsules, because being part of the Original line and using the Original capsules that are older patents and are therefore made by many coffee entities, Nespresso, Lavazza, Peet’s, L’Or. Starbucks, etc. You will see many on Amazon. Just make sure the listing says the capsules are compatible with the Nespresso Original line, because there are other types of capsules in the world, for instance, Lavazza’s own capsule system, as well as those they make for Nespresso Original machines.

So, probably, for a single machine, the best of both worlds.

  9. Is it just me? Or does this look like a vintage 1980s psychological horror/thriller movie cover? “Nespresso”… AI coffee machines are taking over your home!

  10. PointBreakvsLebowski

That’s the one I have. Never had a problem 🤞🏻

This is the exact model I have. I bought this because aesthetically it looks great and fits in with the rest of my kitchen. I also wanted an OL machine only

Good choice. You have more third party capsule options, which helps lower the cost.

Warning, Nespresso is addictive and you may find yourself sneaking sleeves of coffee into your home because you’re afraid of the tongue lasting you will get from your family who can’t understand your obsession. Not that it has happened to me 😁.

  13. I love my Citiz! It’s still going strong after ~12 years

I’ve been recommended to buy the Pixie or Essenza Mini when I first inquired with this thread about wanting a good quality machine that makes real crema, so I think you’ll like this machine.

Let us know what you think about it once you’ve tried it.

Every Nespresso machine I bought has broken within 4 months
