We had 2 of them. I tasted the first and it was pretty good. I am not a huge wine person myself. Tasted fairly distinct in its flavor.

Anyone know the value or brand before we open the second bottle.

If you ever want to get rid of that bottle and have a good story, take it down to the smithsonian. That is a special artifact.

Hmm, why yes this is quite the exquisite bottle. I’d say anywhere in the ballpark of $45-90 dollars.

I don’t think that winery is even in business anymore. It was likely from the Fredrick MD area. I live in MD, and we are not known for the quality of our wine. There are a couple good wine makers here, but they have to work much harder to produce a quality product given the humid summers here.

Value of the wine poured from the bottle, next to nothing… Unless you’re at a NASA/space related event.

Value of the sealed bottle to a NASA/Space nerd… I’d guess $50. It’s a very cool piece of commemorative material but I’d guess something tied to one of the lauch facilities or notable flights would garner higher value.

No sales on ebay recently but there is a bottle of Hubble Space Telescope/NASA wine going for $90 after tax/shipping, so maybe $50 is a bit much for this…

Donating to the Smithsonian Air & Space makes sense but so would just enjoying it. If the other bottle was drinkable I’d say plan for a get together in the commng months and use it to celebrate.

Having looked up the winery it appears it is no longer around and that the wines are well past their prime.

Seems by 2014 the wine from 2000 was drinkable but any prior weren’t remarkable. Sooo this is probably 15 years past it’s point of being a wine worth getting into the weeds with.

This could be a fun collectable for a space enthusiast, perhaps a museum piece as others have mentioned. Crosspost to r/NASA ?
