North Yorkshire’s The Seaview restaurant, situated snugly in Saltburn-by-the-Sea within Redcar and Cleveland, has earned rave reviews for its ‘Mediterranean’ vistas over the North Sea. Once gracing Fred Sirieix’s highly-acclaimed programme Remarkable Places to Eat, it’s no wonder that this gem stands out.

Social media has been buzzing with a snapshot by Andy Owen manifesting the eatery’s breath-taking setting. On cliff edges looking out over Saltburn’s shorelines, The Seaview grants a captivating sweep of the sea and neighbouring cliffs.

Saltburn was also voted Britain’s best seaside destination back in September 2023, as revealed by the Seaside Heritage Network’s inaugural Bucket and Spade List. The town was noticed for its distinctive pier and gorgeous 138-year-old Victorian cliff tramway, as well as its variety of sand, shell and shingle beaches, reported TimeOut.

Owen’s snap ignited social media, garnering a whopping nine thousand likes on Facebook along with a barrage of comments singing praises for the idyllic landscape. With the caption “Bar overlooking the Med? It’s better than that, it’s Saltburn, Yorkshire”, Owen evidently caught his audience’s attention.

Patrons beneath his post shared their delightful experiences. Ann Brown affirmed: “I’ve eaten there. Lovely food and really friendly service. It’s dog friendly if you sit on the terrace, which is no hardship”, reports Yorkshire Live.

Fish and chips got a special mention from Mary Lennox who noted: “Excellent fish and chips there too”. Eleanor Shepherd recounted her visit with fondness: “Brilliant l love sitting at one of these tables and watching the world go by.”

The allure of the Yorkshire Coast and its views did not escape further commendation from visitors like Angela Searle who related: “We have beautiful scenery! We have people with lots of artistry and skills! and sometimes we are lucky enough to have sunshine, Hoorah! for the British Isles.”

Christine Towell also joined the chorus of praise for the seaside town, stating: “Saltburn is always lovely even in winter! Just love the place go several times a month…..gorgeous when the weather is warm and sunny as well has changed for the better over the years!”
