Right about the time I started wondering how I was meant to know when it was ready if I had a towel draped over my mixer, buttermilk started pouring out onto the countertops and floor to let me know.
I obviously struggled getting them shaped into aesthetically pleasing sticks, but it was a pretty fun process so I definitely will be practicing and making this a regular thing if I can find enough uses for the leftover buttermilk!

Was this regular butter or cultured butter? Look into whipped butter and compound butters, you’ll love them.

For some unnecessary context, I work night shift and am always looking for things to do. Making butter would definitely surprise people and keep me entertained.
