You guys didn’t like my $3 grocery store wagyu so here’s a $300 Kobe beef sirloin and filet at a top restaurant in Japan.

Wow, that is some pricy steak! Adding this to my “Things that cost $300” folder!

  2. Just because something is expensive doesn’t mean it’s necessarily worth the price. The most expensive cannabis I ever smoked was cannabis I grew myself.

Here in America, in New Jersey, there’s a local market that sells wagyu beef. It’s priced by the ounce, at $15. I buy a few ~3 ounce pieces as a treat for my friends and me on New Year’s Eve. I pan sear them on a cast iron for 30 seconds a side, done. So delicious! 😋

I would pay for it at least once. Just to try it.

Japan based carnivore here. What restaurant? And that is very expensive. Please try Japanese beef other than Kobe or kurogewagyu

Jeez, I would at least like it seared a little harder.

And yes I’ve eaten this as well as cooked it, it was better with more searing.

Still an amazing experience. Hope you loved it.

I’m not big on steak myself (idk if I have an allergy or an intolerance or what but every time I have steak I get sick), but holy fuck does that look delicious

  8. What makes this better than Wagyu? I’m actually curious

Not my bag, and certainly not for that price.

Nope. I can absolutely guarantee I’ve had a better steak for less.

At the restaurant you’re paying for more than just the food.

i can buy a $300 bottle of wine too, the grapes still grow out of the ground.

  13. *Here’s an overpriced kobe beef sirloin and filet from a top tourist trap in Japan.

My sons just bought me 2 -12 ounce new york strips japanese a5 wagyu overnight delivery for my birthday. 300 bucks

Even for Michelin standards, it looks like you got skimped out of.

Really hope this was part of an 10 course meal.

Lots of quality yakiniku spots in tokyo are serving up a5 waygu for about 30$ usd for 150-200 grams.

Let alone a prime steak like this for about 20$ usd.

One of these days im gonna open a restaurant, put shit on the menu and price it at 1000 bucks. Reviewers and socialite will label it as the most expensive and delicious shit they’ve eaten.

It was part of a whole tasting menu, right? … right?

  18. Tried the K5 steak once. The place is called Misono. It was about as expensive as you describe and changed my life completely. Cotton candy but steak. Oof. I loom forward to repeating that whenever I go back to Japan. Regular-priced food was also great in Japan but the tepanyaki cotton candy beef experience was unforgettable.

that cut of meat looks heavenly

Japan resident here. Forget this BS.

Pay like, $60, get 3oz’s of thinly sliced Kobe wagyu. way better. Drag it across a grill real quick small number of seconds each side, eat. It’ll melt like butter in your mouth. I was on film my first time. I got caught smiling saying it was like candy lol. It’s just soooo rich. We laugh at the people who buy entire steaks of it.

That plate DOES look gorgeous though.
