The great thing is that you can go all the way down to only flour and water for the ingredients. So if you’ve run out of basically everything except flour and water you can still make something to eat.
We fill them with all kinds of legumes and vegetables.
There are sweet recipes which use pureed banana in the batter, but in my experience they are extremely fragile and hard to flip, even in a non-stick pan.
