The details: This gastropub in the heart of the Resort Village, open year-round, recently revamped its menu (it was formerly a Mexican spot) and has some of the best fries around. It dishes up thick steak-fry wedges with just the right balance of crunch and salt and serves them with its entrees, like the American double-patty burger (big enough for two to share) and the ribeye steak served with roasted cipollini and tarragon butter.

The details: Also situated in the Resort Village, just steps from Red Tail Grill, The Farm is an award-winning farm-to-table restaurant now under the direction of executive chef Manuel Rozehmal, who previously worked under world-renowned chef Michael Mina at Stonehill Tavern. Rozehmal, who grew up in the mountains of Germany, has infused the menu with après-ski snacks, like made-from-scratch pretzels; hot potato soup with cabbage and grilled sausage; a standout cheese platter featuring locally made cheeses; and, of course, French fries. They are thinly cut, truffle fries that pack just enough truffled punch to make your tablemates drool, but not overly flavored to the point of nausea. Better be hungry for the burger (ground Montana buffalo), because that’s what accompanies the truffle fries.
