Hey guys. Just bought this salsa con queso but there’s something weird on the top. It’s not paper or anything, also I’ve dug in the jar a little, and I found round shaped same texture stuff. Expiry date is in 2026
Is this normal ? Is my salsa con queso edible ?
Also I want to clarify that normally I wouldn’t eat something that looks like this but I’ve never bought salsa con queso so I figured I may ask Reddit.

Some kind of mold maybe? You should contact the manufacturer.
That looks like part of the inner lining of a lid fell into the dip during packaging and became saturated. It *might* be edible, but i wouldn’t try it. If you are able to, and it makes sense time/effort/cost-wise, I’d return it to the store and get a new one. Or else throw it out and count the few dollars as a loss.
I would toss it to be safe.
I wouldn’t gamble that unless you’re willing to hang out in the bathroom for a day or two.
Don’t do it.
If in doubt, toss it out.
