An average Tuna is better than an average Salmon, but a good Salmon is better than a good Tuna

mooseMan1968

Salmon, unless the tuna is some kind of toro. Then again, salmon belly rivals toro IMO.

Salmon is good for the heart

I pick all tuna over all salmon. Salmon’s texture is unpleasant to me and tuna is always scrumptious.

I prefer tuna.

There’s a reason tuna is way more expensive than salmon

Salmon has a slight edge but I have access to better tuna sashimi steaks where I live, so if I’m preparing it myself I take advantage of it. I can get good salmon but it is more of a shopping trip while the Fresh Market near my home does good tuna sashimi steaks.

salmon, all day every day

Depends on the quality of both.. amazing quality salmon is hard to beat, but average quality tuna is better than average salmon in my opinion. Probably depends on where you live and what is available. Also fatty salmon can get a bit too much, but tuna, even fatty tuna doesn’t seem as greasy if that makes sense. Just my two cents.

If we are talking about limited foreign sushi like this, it’s hard but slight tendency towards salmon.
However, if it’s proper sushi with Chutoro, otoro etc. then tuna any day.

Both are great but salmon is my favorite. There’s something about the texture of salmon that i love

Tuna!
But the only salmon I don’t like is Atlantic.

I cook salmon for the family pretty regularly. Oven roasted around 3 times a month. When I go out for sushi Im more likely to get tuna. (Or both)

I’m not much of a tuna fan. I’ve had fatty tuna and I like that better, but for me, salmon is the clear victor.
