The Midland Grand Dining Room is a brasserie inside the St. Pancras Renaissance Hotel in King’s Cross, and is as regal as a National Trust home, with food to match. There are parmesan fritters complete with a coppa fascinator fit for Ascot; crab toast that has as much flavour as the room has gold; and, like any French restaurant worth its salt, soufflé du jour. Just know that the prices mean this isn’t a casual, pop-in kind of restaurant, but if you want to experience the grandeur for less, stop by the hotel’s equally glamorous bar for a classy, classic nightcap.
