Picking up this grill later today! I come from a kettle background so what would I need to know that’s different about a propane grill? Also, since this is used, what parts should I look at to see if I need to replace any to ensure it’s cooking how it should be?

I have this exact grill. Same color and everything.

It’s fantastic, a total workhorse of a grill. I recently converted mine to natural gas. Just give it a deep clean inside. The cast iron grates appear to be installed upside down currently. Replace them if needed. Flavorizer bars, if they have any rust, replace them with some cheap ones from Amazon. Below that are a pair of deflector plates, give them a deep clean and replace if there’s any rust. Check your burners for corrosion and make sure flame comes out of each pinhole – if not, give them a cleaning with a wire brush or replace as needed. The drip pan pulls out of the front, underneath the cookbox. Hit it with degreaser and scrape off any gunk. Finally the drip bucket below that.. degunk that and replace with a new foil liner.

If the cookbox has any corrosion holes, and yours doesn’t appear to, you can weld in some steel plate to patch it up.

    Happy grilling!

Deep clean. I use super clean or La totally awesome cleaner. Spray and let soak. Then spray again. Pressure wash it out and then you can really evaluate everything once all the crud and gunk is gone. Cast iron grates can be wire wheeled and re seasoned with oil. Enjoy it!

    She’s beautiful!

Clean the box, grates (which are upside down in your pic), flavorizers, etc with oven cleaner.
Season the grates with oil, then use the hell out of that grill. Parts are readily available online if needed
