This place is on my bucket list. How was it?

  2. I loved my experience here. One of the times we didn’t do a tasting menu. I wanted to try all of the greatest hits so went for the *al a carte* they offered at the time.

    How was the tasting menu?

Did you get given some of their amazing balsamic vinegar at the end?

Ahhh yes, Osteria Francescana.. became famous after the Netflix show ‘Chef’s table’. First time I actually took a flight just to dine at a restaurant. Whilst Italy at the time (end of April) was a bit rainy, this was definitely a nice standout experience. Usually I have one or two dishes that I don’t really like, but here everything was smooth sailing. Except the restaurant’s 2 signature dishes (oops i dropped the lemon tart & Five Ages of Parmigiano Reggiano) where not part of the Chef’s menu (15 courses). Probably because the menu changes season to season. All in all it was a great experience, with attentive staff and even Massimo Bottura himself coming to explain his concept at our table. (don’t hesistate to ask for a picture btw. — after we asked, suddenly all the other guests wanted one as well :D) If anyone wants to go, make sure to book way in advance (we booked this ~6 months before).

Got to go here in 2018 and it really is a wonderful space. Got to meet Massimo. Got engaged to my wife after. Amazing trip and experience.

So cool how all your pictures look so different (though I’m sad you didn’t get to try the parm or lemon tart).
