A LEIGH restaurant is celebrating a successful first year of business by expanding its offering to include new bottomless brunches.
The Med, on Eastwood Road, burst onto the scene last summer with a range of Mediterranean dishes and quickly became a hit with an army of loyal customers.
Combining a mix of food from countries around the Mediterranean with a lively atmosphere including performances from DJs and Samba dancers and extravagant cocktails, the business has become one of the area’s go-to venues.
Seeking to capitalise on the popularity of their sharing plates and the nightlife in the area, the brunch offers a buffet-style selection of plates and sharers from the popular menu and comes in three packages for beer, Prosecco and cocktails to choose from.

Restaurant manager Olivia Ramsay said: “We had hoped to start them last summer, but we have been so busy and the weather’s only just starting to get warmer so we thought it would be the perfect time to launch them.
“We have people of all ages who come in here and say they love the food and the service, with the brunches we want to attract people who want to stay out a bit later in the evening for some drinks and maybe a dance.

“We have a great team with live entertainment including DJs and samba dancers who choreograph with the DJ to really bring across that welcoming Mediterranean atmosphere.”
Starting from 2pm every Saturday this month, Olivia says the brunches bring together all the elements that make the restaurant shine, with the owner’s own Mediterranean upbringing inspiring the generous selection of dishes on offer.

“They grew up with Turkish and Greek food but expanded the menu to include other dishes from the Med with veggie and vegan options; we want the menu to be modern and inclusive so people can pick what they like,” Olivia added.
“Since opening we’ve had rave reviews from the local community. It’s great to see familiar faces every week, and the chefs and front of house staff really want to make sure customers feel welcome and have great time.
“We are just trying to be the best we can be here. We have a sister restaurant called Brakan on London Road as well we are planning to reopen soon that’s a bit smaller with a cosy atmosphere, so between them we are hoping to offer something for everyone.”
