Here’s a simple and healthy weight loss lentil soup recipe using mung beans, red lentils, and a few flavorful ingredients:
Weight Loss Lentil Soup Recipe
Ingredients:
• 1 cup mung beans (washed and soaked for 1-2 hours)
• ½ cup red lentils (washed)
• 1 small onion (finely chopped)
• 1 tsp ginger-garlic paste
• 1 tomato (optional, chopped – adds flavor and nutrients)
• ½ tsp turmeric powder
• ½ tsp cumin seeds (optional for tempering) Salt to taste
• Black pepper or red chili flakes (optional, for spice)
• 4-5 cups water (adjust for desired consistency)
• 1 tsp olive oil or ghee (optional)
Instructions:
1. Prep the Beans:
Wash and soak mung beans for 1-2 hours. Rinse red lentils thoroughly.
2. Sauté Aromatics (Optional but flavorful):
In a pot, heat 1 tsp olive oil or ghee. Add cumin seeds, then chopped or y Saute until soft. Add ginger-garlic paste and cook for 1-2 minutes.
3. Add Lentils and Spices:
Add mung beans, red lentils, turmeric, and salt.
Stir well.
4. Add Water and Cook:
Pour in water. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer for 25-35 minutes, or until both lentils are soft. (You can also pressure cook for faster results
– about 2-3 whistles.)
5. Blend or Leave Chunky:
Use a hand blender if you prefer a smooth soup, or leave it chunky for texture.
6. Finish with Pepper or Herbs:
Add black pepper or ch. V kes. Garnish with fresh
ginger-garlic paste and cook for 1-2 minutes.
