If you’re looking for good Mediterranean food in St. Louis, Medina Mediterranean Grill is a place you should check out. With three different locations, I decided to go to the one on Maryland Plaza.
The staff were very friendly and gave me their recommendations on the menu. The menu was expansive with vegetarian and gluten-free options. They had pictures of their most popular options, which helped me make my choice.
To start, I got their hummus, which was fresh and delicious. It was topped with sumac instead of paprika like most hummus I’ve had. I ordered Dodana, which is a shawarma with your choice of chicken or beef paired with a savory tzatziki sauce. The French fries were crisp and seasoned with salt and sumac. The meal was great overall but it was a little expensive. The total came out to be a little over $25, but with the quality and quantity of food, I didn’t mind paying it.
The atmosphere was laid back. The walls were decorated with abstract paintings, and they played instrumental music in the background. My only complaint was that closer to the bathrooms reeked of sewage. It was a little overwhelming when ordering, but we sat by the door and it was fine.
