As part of an ongoing video series called, “Our Food. Your Questions” fast food giant McDonald’s is finally telling the world exactly what goes into its French Fries.

Mythbusters host Grant Imahara takes the viewer through the ingredients and the process in two separate videos, one of which shows us that McDonald’s fries do in fact come from potatoes that were harvested from an actual farm — phew! And, thankfully potatoes are also number one on the list of ingredients. However, the list is quite long and includes items like this tongue twister: dimethylpolysiloxane.

Dimethylpolysiloxane, “an anti-foaming agent” that “helps keep the oil from splattering,” actually makes the list twice because McDonald’s fries are fried twice — partially at the factory and then again at the individual restaurant locations.

For the full list of indredients and to watch how McDonald’s fries are made from start to finish, check out the video below.

What do you think of these videos? Does knowing the ingredients make you more or less likely to eat fries from McDonald’s?

Hometown: Los Angeles

3 things I make better than anyone else: Pancakes (they are a Sunday morning staple for the Bain family), cookie dough (I will take the raw stuff over just-out-of-the-oven cookies any day), chili

Recipe I’m on the eternal hunt for: The easiest-ever, throw-together soup that I still have time to make after work

Kitchen technique I just can’t get right: Poaching eggs. I swirl the water, just like everyone says I should, but it never works. #fail
