I have never tried tinned fish or desired to try it. After recent internet cravings pushing me towards seafood, tinned fish seemed the obvious option. Here is what I made!

Whole wheat toast, warm cream cheese with black pepper and garlic, smoked salmon in olive oil and topped with pickled asparagus.

I thought it was very good! The salmon had an excellent flavor with the cream cheese complimented it well (I stole that from this group.) Next time I will add some of the vinegar from the asparagus and more black pepper.

As someone with an aversion to tinned fish for many years I think this was an easy starting point. I’m excited to see where it goes.

Also included are photos of my other tinned fish I grabbed. If you have recommendations for the preparation of these to make it an easy experience as well, please let me know!

Now try Nuri Sardines & Fishwife Tuna. It’s a fun hobby!

Yum. I’ve loved smoked oysters, forever, my oldest and dearest friend and I bonded in second grade at her house after school, eating smoked oysters, and Ritz crackers. And then taking the crackers and crumbling them up in the oil and eating that with a spoon yeah we were weird kids, but I eat anything. My parents made sure I wasn’t a picky eater and there was I had three siblings older than I was so being 10 years younger you had to eat what was offered or you went hungry.

I’m about to eat a Geisha tin right now with potato chips and hot sauce! Have fun exploring the plethora of cans out there😄 Coles smoked trout is supposed to be really good too.

I like those smoked oysters as they are on a saltine with a little hot sauce (that’s where you get creative)

you could probably jazz it up with some cream cheese and green onion or something

Sardines on toast for me! I get the spicy ones in tomato sauce.
