Made a couple of filets while doing my taxes last night. Definitely eased my annoyance knowing I’d have steak afterwards…

Damn that is a perfectly cooked steak. The perfect tax-day reward.

  2. CyberHaxer

That’s a perfect cooked through redness. Nice job!

  3. How much you owe? Hope you had a bottle of Tums for the tummy nearby.

    Finished taxes quick then?

    Jokes aside, that looks perfect.

  5. After doing my taxes, may not be having steak for a while lol

Beautiful. I should make myself a steak after surviving my first tax season as a tax accountant

It’s 9:10 am and I’m salivating for steak!

And just a bit ago I was getting annoyed with this sub for all of the “How did I do” threads where the steaks have either no sear, a grey band, or are clearly beyond Medium Rare (or a combo of all 3).

This is perfection! Makes me regret not buying a tenderloin at Costco last weekend, cutting it up into portions and freezing them for sous-vide just like this!

Lucky, I had to return my steak and buy Top Ramen with a coupon.

Ever year I say I’m going to just pay someone to do my taxes… Every. Year… never happens and my frustrations are evident.

    Great looking steak!

I wish people fed me steak after I prepared their taxes. I usually just get yelled at. Occasionally, if someone gets a good surprise, I get a donut.

Anyway, your steak looks awesome and I hope you got to enjoy it!

I’ve a very big advocate for the reward system! My teeth are a problem and I go to the dentist once a month, but I ALWAYS by myself a smoothie after my dentist appt 🙂 things like that really help me do things i dislike in this world.

Nothing like waiting till the last minute, lol.

Steak looks awesome, now I’m starving at 10 am lol.

Yes, after taxes a good steak will help you to recover faster.

That steak has magic properties. It hovers in mid air.

  15. Nice uniform rare, great work on that. Might need to work on your sear a bit though.

  16. Xispecialpoobeardoll

That is just a gorgeously consistent rare. How thick? What was your method? Teach us oh wise one.

That looks lovely. Great cook. Hoping you get some time to relax now that tax season is coming to a close.

Nothings guaranteed in life except death and taxes… and wait this guy cooking a steak perfectly. Well done!

Gorgeous- now, I know what we’re having for dinner. Side note: I’m addicted to little potatoes baked with olive oil and sprinkled w/ Kinder’s Buttery Steakhouse Rub.

  20. This looks amazing!
OP, would you mind sharing every single step you took to prepare a steak like this? Because of your post, I started searching for sous vide brands.. Seeing your post makes me feel like I was eating steak wrong my whole life. Omg, I want to cry. It is 10am, and I’m craving for a steak like this!

You’re such a procrastinator! I did mine on the 14th.

  22. Far-Artichoke5849

Seeing that bit of salt crystal on top of a beautifully cut and cooked piece of meat, perfection

  23. newintownv

You waited this long to do your taxes?!?
    Nice steak though!

  24. darkofnight916

That’s a beautiful looking steak I would only add some asparagus or green beans to complement it. Then raise a glass of a nice dark liquor in celebration of completing the taxes.

  25. FocusIsFragile

Looks outstanding. Are you using the standard nozzle on the torch, or an attachment?

  26. I mean…you waited til the last day to do taxes. Your stress is on you…Great looking steak though!

  27. Pvt__Snowball

The epitome of “wall to wall” rare. This shit looks perfect lol

  28. Are these actually cooked?? That looks like rare at minimum to me. How did you cook them? Don’t get me wrong, it looks delicious, just wondering how to actually get it cooked while looking this rare?
