I have this Amazon drop shipped piece of crap and I hate it. It changes its mind about the weight on stuff in the middle of weighing and if I slowly add small amounts of weight to it, like 1 gram of peanut butter at a time, I can go up to what should be about 8-10g and it won't register it. I will just be stuck at zero.

Tell me about the kitchen scale you love. Or tell me about the one you hate so I know to avoid it. 😅

I bought a coffee bean scale and have been using it for weighing chicken.. lol

Does it need cleaning? See if you can pop the top of and clean the underside. Sounds like it’s sticking on food goop.

As for scales, any one of them with a lid of 304 stainless steel should be decent enough. Don’t get roped into ones that connect via an app or other nonsense.

This scale is indeed trash. I made this exact same mistake and then switched to a Taylor brand that’s been great for a couple years.

I’ve had that exact one for years and have had no issues as long as it’s sitting level on the counter and nothing is touching it (which will be true of any scale).

I have an oxo 30lb(?) scale that was $50 and I love it

I bought a 5 euro one and it’s been working just fine.

I bought the stupid smart kitchen scale on Amazon and it sucks, so don’t get that one haha. I can add way too much cheese before it starts registering it 🤣🤣🤣

I have a kitchenaid one that hasn’t failed me

I have this scale, it’s lasted about 8 years and is still going strong.

  10. I use the Amazon brand one and haven’t had any issues

I bought a cheap mini scale from Amazon for $13, that reminds me from when I used to do drugs. It works totally fine for everything I’ve thrown at it so far. Including a tupperware container like 10 times its size full of yams and beans lol

  12. I know this is similar to what you have, but it’s been going 5 years strong for me and I really like it. I have a RENPHO scale for my body too, quality products imo. https://a.co/d/bZvh0FV

Edit to add- it’s sensitive enough it can go gram for gram when I shred parm over something on it. And I’ve also shredded parm on it, taken it all off, put in a container and weighed it again just to test accuracy and it was correct!

I got an arboleaf one which comes with an app (yes I know ew) which I hardly use but comes in super handy whenever I want to put a pot or large plate on there and it covers the screen coz then I just use the app to see the weight

I used an Ozeri for years when ATK recommended, now I have an OXO that I love, as the display slides out so you can see weight when measuring large amounts

OXO always. They have a 5 pound and an 11 pound one. I’d go with the 11 pound one if I had to buy another one

  16. I have one I got from Amazon for like 10 or 15 USD. It does it’s job, doesn’t need an app and works. Other than that there’s nothing special, just a basic scale that goes grams and oz with a few others.

I use accuchef. I’ve had it for a decade probly and it’s never let me down

I’ve been using a gas station, “jewelry” (drug) scale 😂 goes from .1 to 1000 grams and works great

  19. I have this exact one but so far it’s been accurate for me😂
