I’ve never had this before, and it’s delicious.

Notes of caramel, cherry, and almonds. A little raisin too. Medium body. In some ways, less complex and more straightforward than some ports. It’s like if a port and sherry came together.

Chapoutier is a super reliable producer in my experience – even the Occultem Lapidem, which is very much at the basic end of the market is a really well put together CdR.

Tasting notes: caramel, cherry, almond, raisin, fig. Spiced like cinnamon.

I’ve had this bottle in our collection for a solid 5 years, never thought twice about opening it until now. It was kept in a 55F wine fridge for the entire time.

What’d you have to eat with it? Dessert wines can be magical pairings.
