Don’t.

Got this as a gift for Christmas. I knew it was bad news when I opened it at it “popped” kind of like a weak champagne cork. Turns out it has a bacterial infection, similar to beer when the brewers aren’t on top of their sanitation game. After a couple minutes of sitting open as I typed this out it started to bubble out of the bottle itself.

Anyone get a non-infected batch? Is it any good or still trash?

It’s OK, but if you put all your sauces in the fridge door like I do, the design is a pain in the ass.

Got this for Christmas but never opened it.

  3. I have one that’s been in my cubbord for like a year, I guess it’s staying there forever

Open it without wrecking your knuckle. I’ll wait.

  5. The lid WILL cut your hand op. Every single time. Beware.

The flavor isn’t bad but iirc, it’s tomato based? It’s a thick sauce, it just isn’t hot enough imo.

I didn’t think it was any good anyway. Not nasty or anything, but not remotely interesting and not particularly hot. And yes, the packaging is irritating.

I got as a gift as well and thought it had a chemical taste and threw it away. Only hot sauce I ever threw away after a single taste.

I got one as a gift, and assumed it would suck, as sauces with these bottles usually do, but I was actually quite impressed. Not enough to spend $15 on it though.

I had a green one of those tasted great

Try some good Peruvian food and put some Aji Verde on it….just a suggestion.

It’s alright. Nothing too special. The packaging gimmick is its biggest draw tbh. Not a terrible sauce at all, but doesn’t have a real identity imo.

I had two. One was called “danger close” and I forget what the other was called. They were both really good though

  13. Nice novelty, I would expect to to be somewhere between acid and water, but not go to.

I had one that was pretty good, mid-heat. I forget which exactly, but I was surprised given the gimmicky bottle, theme, and low price point.

The bottle sucks though. Awkward to open and to pour from

  15. Wasn’t a fan. When you have a gimmick for packaging, it usually means you’re compensating for quality

It’s pretty good. I’ve tried two of them at friend’s house. I can’t remember which one I liked more between dead red and danger close (I wanna say I like danger close more), but they were good on tacos. Sorry you had bad luck with this bottle.

  17. WANGblizzard

I was wary because anything that spends that much on marketing is usually mid. Pretty darn good sauce, emptied the bottle.

  18. That is one of those sauces that I know to stay away from because it’s a gimmick sauce. Never had it though so no help there.

So you got a bad batch, that sucks. I genuinely like this sauce. Lots of flavor but not particularly hot.

Anyone have a bottle of Blair’s sauce in fancy glass bottle

    ITT:

    It’s hot but not good.

    I love the DeadRed.

A few drops on a Ritz. Yummy light snack.

  23. Grizzly_Mane

It’s surprisingly solid. I really expected it to be little more than a white labeled gimmick. They source peppers from small farmers too which is cool.

  24. PaddleFishBum

Haven’t had this one, but I got Reaper Actual as a gift and I don’t care for it.

  25. Radi0ActivSquid

I’ve had I think it was called “Danger Close” or something. Nasty sauce. It tasted disgusting. Never trying the brand again.

Muffugga gave me the BEST insurance rates (online). Also saved me time. Smdh….

  27. DnDnPizza

It was ok at best. If a friend gave me a second bottle, I probably wouldn’t open it.
