BetterBee891
Fedrick hands down.

Hakka Legend, but specifically the Markham location. It is a chain, but the original location is still the best!

Bawara at Roncesvalles/Bloor. Whenever I eat there, I dream of their Manchurian momos as I fall asleep from my Hakka food baby. They don’t skimp on ingredients, they don’t shy from spice (if you want it), and it’s never oily.

My favs already mentioned I just wanted to say I love Hakka food!

Finally, I can answer!
Golden Asian at Kipling and Rexdale. I’ve been going there for more than a decade now and the food is still incredible. I’ve been to several other Hakka places in the GTA, this tops them all. Go to dishes: Bombay chicken, Manchurian chicken and Chili chicken.

There are multiple kind of Hakka restaurants in scale of tending more Chinese to tending more Indian.
Fredricks and Lin Garden tend more towards Chinese style. Urban Hakka, Hakka Khaazana are more towards Nepali style.
Royal Jasmine in Mississauga is more towards Indian style.
All of the above are my favorite,
Hakka food is one of my comfort food which I typically tend to eat once or twice a week

I find Hakka Gardens best with close 2nd to Urban Hakka. Lots of good ideas mentioned here for several places I haven’t tried… and I’m making notes so thank you!
One of my absolute favourite places was Spadina Gardens, which closed many years ago. They had the most amazing curry shrimp with broccoli, a perfect combination of the Indian and the Chinese.
Regarding these restaurants that have been recommended, are any of them particularly good at vegetarian dishes? (most of the recommendations here seem to be for seafood or meat)

Hot Wok at Progress and Kennedy is my favourite spot hands down.

Eddie’s wok n roll but it’s in Missisauga . Made by Indo Chinese chefs halal too. Yueh tung in downtown Toronto but they aren’t halal and use cooking wine in their dishes.
