📜 What is schiacciata?
Schiacciata is a classic Italian flatbread that originated in Tuscany. Unlike focaccia, it is thinner, crispier, and even more delicate, with a golden, blistered crust and a beautifully light crunch. Traditionally, it is enjoyed on its own, stuffed with mortadella or prosciutto, or dipped in fragrant olive oil.

🍞 Ingredients for Schiacciata:
500g all-purpose flour
300ml water
10g salt
3g dry yeast
40ml extra virgin olive oil (+ extra for brushing)
Coarse salt for topping
🔥 How to Make It:
1️⃣ Mix flour, yeast, and salt. Gradually add water and knead until smooth.
2️⃣ Let it rise for 2-3 hours until doubled in size.
3️⃣ Roll out the dough as thin as possible for that perfect crispness.
4️⃣ Brush generously with extra virgin olive oil.
5️⃣ Sprinkle with coarse salt for extra flavor.
6️⃣ Bake at 230°C (450°F) for 10-15 minutes, or until beautifully golden.
