Recently visited Monte Bello and Lytton Springs and became a member. We cracked open this bottle for Easter dinner, which was a favorite when tasted at both locations.

This '23 Paso Robles Zinfandel offers bright raspberry and spice on the nose, with hints of oak, caramel, and a light cinnamon or brown sugar note. Its palate is fresh and vibrant, showing a fullness of raspberry, dark fruit, and a touch of dried raisin, framed by medium tannins and a light, airy texture. I was able to acknowledge its young age and found it slightly alcohol-forward, but it shows refined balance and complexity, promising to improve with time. Paired well with our lamb roast and bacon-wrapped dates.

$46 // 92pts

Didn't get a photo of the open bottle or poured glass, but here's another I have in my cellar and a cool souvenir I picked up!
