Agreed. A dip in a cup if you want but leave bun alone.

Preach! Hate this cheese over the bun trend. No good way to eat this (fork and knife ruins the whole point of a burger being on a bun).

Idk. I go to a place that stand a knife through the burger with a whole fried jalapeño on top.
The-Red-Robe
I’m actually ok with it. It lets you know which places to avoid. If you have to drape sauce over a burger, the burger itself is shit. Period. If your burger is amazing plain (without being draped in sauce) you’ll want to showcase it as such and never compromise it with a dumb sauce over top.
WompaONE
Ya, this is dumb. A place local to me does this. I just dip the burger in the cheese instead 🤷♂️

I don’t mind a messy burger, but this is just silly.

In Denmark we have a Burger that is tooped with Gravy. It’s a very traditional “Burger” here. It’s called a “Beef Sandwich” so not ‘Burger’ but it contains a bun and a beef pattie. Besided that, traditional Danish ingredients as: pickled Beetroot, fried onions (often put on top of the gravy burger), remoulade (a type of Tartar sauce, but not really).
It’s meant to be eaten with fork and knife, and can be found and eaten almost everywhere here. Actually it’s more common to see a ‘Bøfsandwich’ in restaurants and they don’t have burgers. Most burger places, that specializes in burgers often also have the Beef sandwiches, since it’s so popular and traditional.
Again, this is NOT a burger in Danish eyes, it’s a national dish that happens to contain a burger bun. Don’t ask me how it is, I don’t remember ever having tasted one, since I’m a burger guy, that likes to hold the food with my hands.
Everyone talking about the sauce on the burger, meanwhile those fries in that pretentious little metal flowerpot just makes me angry. Why can’t the fries and the hamburger just arrive on a plain white ceramic plate?
ILSmokeItAll
I can still hold that.
If I can hold ribs and fried chicken, I can hold *that.*

Like we’re supposed to use fork and knife? To eat a burger? Please
RevolTobor
Just… why don’t you just put the cheese INSIDE the burger?!
Seriously, trendy restaurants make no goddamned sense.
TheGreatLordVader
A burger doesn’t need to be this “innovative” or “exciting” just put the fries in the bag bro
PausedForNoReason
This reminds me of Mexican restaurants smothering burritos with cheese sauce. I can’t STAND that crap.

at first I was immediately pissed. but i am on edibles so it started to look REALLY good as i kept staring. i would take a fork and knife a GLADLY destroy that rn.

This is the wet burrito of burgers.

What if you then took this messy burger and put it between another set of dry buns?

This looks like a served dish. Is the customer pouring it on top? Pour it wherever you want I guess. Personally, I’d just dunk my fries and leave the burger out of it.

One of my places has cheese covered burger since 2015, never tried it

I quit eating burgers outside of my abode long ago. A burger should be bun, meat, cheese, mustard, pickle, light ketchup, maybe some bacon, lettuce and onion when. Anything more and it’s not even a burger. You begin to taste everything else except the actually burger!!

Smothering buns with things, going with weird artisan buns, and stacking burgers beyond what you can bite into as a handheld are all things I would like to see stop happening.

Its all to distract from a bland burger…
