March 18, 2025 – Star Wine List has named the best wine lists in Germany at an awards ceremony held at ProWein, in Düsseldorf, with Berlin’s Nobelhart und Schmutzig taking the top honour of Grand Prix as well as the Best Long List prize.

The 2025 Judges for Star Wine List Germany

The Star Wine List of the Year competition recognises the world’s greatest wine lists – and the teams behind them. The German entries were judged by a panel of four leading international sommeliers: Jan Konetzki, Emmanuel Rosier, Pascaline Lepeltier and Stefan Neumann MS.

“What a treat to judge these lists, what a pleasure to see the incredible dynamic in Germany,” says Lepeltier. “The quality of the selections, the depth, the pricing (and not only in the main wine-centric cities but around the country) make Germany a must-visit wine destination! Congrats to the whole sommelier community for such great work on making so many beautiful bottles, iconic or up-and-coming, available to us!”

Gold Stars were awarded in 11 categories in Germany, with winners in the international categories automatically gaining entry to the Star Wine List of the Year International Final, which will be held in Vienna on 16 June.
