First time grilling flap steak, never heard of it. Will 100% buy this again. I paid like $7.50 for this steak at Winn Dixie. Grilled at 500 for 8 mins, next time I’d do less time.

Yeah, you got a deal, those are the best and most of the time verrrry expensive! Per pound, right up with high dollar steaks. And so tender!

Bavette in French.  It is what Steak frites should be.

It is my favourite cut of beef.  Of course around here, bring mostly French, they all know it and it is therefore not cheap.

I believe in the NE, like MA, it is sold as steak tips.

  4. Good stuff right there. Pretty much cant burn it and it marinates well. Cheers!

Literally grilling 4 of those tonight. Gonna slice them up and make tacos out of them.

Winn Dixie? Daaaamn. Here in KY , all of them shut down years ago. Glad to know they didn’t go all the way out.

I’ve found myself enjoying cuts like this, tri tip, skirt, picanha way more than ribeye or strip. So much tastier and beefier.

  9. this is used for carne asada where I’m from. soy, a1, worcestershire, garlic and onion over night.

  10. We’ve been buying this when we want meat and I don’t have time to grill outside, we’ll fry it on the stove and baste it with butter and oregano….BOMB. Before we fry, I season it with S&P, garlic and onion powder with a splash of cayenne pepper. Give it a go.

  11. Flap steak has lots of flavor. Let’s keep it a secret.

Looks like it would also be good in a stroganoff, I’ve been using discount rib fillet instead of diced beef in stroganoff and man it is good.

Thank you for teaching me about this cut of beef today, I’d never heard of it until now!
