Cleanup on the $20 kettle, now affectionately known as “Scarface,” is now complete! Thanks to all for the tips on mainly leaving the scars alone. Bought some new gear for the old girl and she’s ready to go for this weekend! Any votes on what to cook first for a charcoal newbie?

Looks great inside! Burgers, ribs, chicken would be a great first cook
Nice job on the clean up. No matter what you cook on charcoal you are going to really like it.
What did u use to clean that? Asking for a friend…
You should fix the way the handles are pointing. Remove the legs and fit them back the correct way.
Chicken, or if you have never smoked with a kettle, a pork butt would fits easily.
Burgers and hotdogs are always a good choice for a maiden voyage with a new acquisition.
Nicely done! Almost looking like a new set. I vote for some burgers and hotdogs to keep it simple and nice.
Looks good!
I’m gonna clean mine just like that pretty soon.
